How long have you been in business?
The Art Shop has been around since 1899. We are the second olderst business in Greensboro.
What is your primary product or service?
The Art Shop started as a photography business and has evolved over the years to now include sales of fine art, custom framing, restoration, commercial art installations, and now featuring local art and gifts in our NC Fine Art & Gifts section.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Andy McAfee and April McAfee have owned The Art Shop since March 2015, when they purchased it from Lenny Dolin. Andy was previously the Gallery Director at The Art Shop and has been employed here since 1997. He majored in Art Marketing at Appalachian State and has been in the art field for nearly 27 years.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The Art Shop features nationally & internationally renowned artists. We have a beautiful gallery in which to browse or you can view our artists' works online at www.artshopnc.com Our award-winning framers are creative, meticulous, and have a passion for making your artwork look its very best.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One loction. Don't let the name confuse you. We are the one and ONLY, The Art Shop.

From Winston-Salem / Asheville - take I-40 East to the 2nd Wendover Ave. exit, follow Wendover, turn left on Norwalk, turn right on West Market, The Art Shop is well marked on the left. Turn left into the shopping center when you come to the stoplight at Walker Ave. From Charlotte - take I-85 North to Holden Road exit, turn right on Holden Road, turn left on West Market Street, The Art Shop is on the right. From Raleigh/Durham and Points East - Keep right to take I-40 Business West. Take exit # 41 to the right at Replacements LImited. Take the short connector to US 70 west to Greensboro. Follow 70 west. It turns into Wendover Ave west. Follow Wendover several miles and take the W. Market St. Exit. Turn right onto W. Market St. and follow past Holden Rd to the first stop light. The Art Shop is on the right. From Virginia - take 52 South to I-40 East, then follow the directions from Winston-Salem or take 29 South exit on Cone Boulevard, turn right on Cone, turn right on Holden Road, turn right on West Market, go one block to the stoplight at Walker Ave. The Art Shop is on the right in the shopping center.
