How long have you been in business?
Concealed Carry for Protection officially began in January 2014. Three instructors make up this business and prior to this year, we were teaching basic pistol safety/firearms. We decided to expand to what we have today.
What is your primary product or service?
Our services consist of the North Carolina Concealed Carry certification courses and NRA Basic Pistol courses. We teach people with a wide variety of experiences and EXCEED the minimum requirements on many topics within the Concealed Carry courses.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Between the three instructors, we have over 75 years of firearm/safety/training experience. We see a great need to teach people "correctly" and give back to our community by charging usually 25-40% less for our services than most competitors. With today's economy and daily financial burdens, we do not want money to stand in the way for people to learn firearms safety and how to protect themselves if the need every arises.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our pricing is a big difference. Cheap does not mean poor training but exactly the opposite with Concealed Carry for Protection. We EXCEED much of the training given by others today. We also like to pride ourselves on top customer service and customer referrals. We have a lot of students who are loyal and send us business and comment on our Facebook page. We genuinely care about our students and want to give them EVERY tool we can (within the time allotted) so they are prepared and get MORE than their money's worth.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location in Greensboro, and expanding to a second location in Winston Salem in 2015. We also do "Private Mobile Group Classes" where we drive to a home, business, etc., and teach a group (e.g., family, friends, co-workers, etc.). I have been teaching in basements, living rooms, cigar lounges, etc., and love it. We have been to many parts of North Carolina providing this service and save our students hundreds of dollars by taking this type of "group class" together instead of individually.
Provide detailed directions to your location
The facility we are currently meeting at is at Southeast Church of the Nazarene. 4511 Southeast School Road, Greensboro 27406 (past Southeast Guilford High School), private range area is 10 minutes from there. I was the former youth pastor at this wonderful church many years ago and they have allowed me to have classes there now. By not having my own "brick and mortar" location, we can keep our prices very low and that is one of our priorities.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, all major credit cards and checks. It is very easy to reserve a seat, just visit our website and click "Register".
Which areas do you service?
All of North Carolina and mainly the Piedmont Triad area for our public classes. We just had students come from Charlotte to take our class. That type of reputation that brings students that far away does not happen on accident. We aim to serve others.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The three instructors who own this business are Ron Adams - (also runs the daily operations) Bill Sanders - (also owner/operator of Pony Express Guns & Ammo) Derek Amos
What are your hours of operation?
Our classes are general in the evenings during the week and during the day on Saturdays but our phones are ALWAYS on. If you get our voice, leave us a message and we will call you back after our meetings or classes. We are very prompt on top customer service.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
From several students who had to take our class because their permit had expired (required by NC to retake a class like ours for recertification), we hear the same: You teach much more than what the other instructor did and you are charging about half the price, why? I have lost count how many times I have heard that "exact" phrase and cannot help but smile.
